I did some test fitting with an extra set of late model 911 rims i had sitting around in the garage on my last car before the sawzall took care of it....

These have a 52mm offset.

For the rear, the tire hit the trailing arm and the
inside of the fenderwell/trunk wall.

If the trailing arm was notched (about .5") and the fender
well/trunk area was moved towards the car centerline,
I think these would fit just fine. This approach would
be similar to how the hotrod guys "tub" a car to put
big fat tire on it without flares.

This was a '76 car that no one wanted...I offered the tub for free.....

Doh! Too Funny! biggrin.gif I was curious to see how those rims looked on the car, never seen them on a 914. I can see that's not an option.

Yup, that's the right-front corner of it allright!

That one they cut up without the rest of us. I stopped by after work to help (it was a weekday), but the car was already in pieces. Oh well...

Brad,
now that you got cookies working and it recognizes us phone-y people,
I just have pics turned off, so I can check only the ones that matter.

So tell us, Oh Grand Sphyncter, what size would you like to see? 640x480?

Cheers Beers beerchug.gif
Brad Roberts
640x480 is good. Its not for me.. I just recall how many people used to piss and moan about the pic sizes.

I shoot everything in 640x480.. that way I dont have to shrink them.

Check that, that feature doesn't work, even though it is available
in the profile editor.

I like the pic of the rust free front trunk floor.
Jeroen, I just installed that piece and it wasn't "too" bad to put in. (just a few burns from laying on my back welding)

L8Apex, I looked at your update pics. Looks like you have some work to do in the engine bay. How much rust in the engine shelf??

Geoff
L8Apex
Err, there isn't a ton of rust. Good thing this is a race car and not a show car. I just welded a piece of stainless steel to cover all that rusty metal up. It's not as bad as it looks. there isn't any structural rust, which would really cause problems.
