?? whats needed to 1.7 block and heads to install 94mm P&Cs ??

i ask because i have a set of 94mm P&Cs for sale i a potential buyer has asked me this very question.

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=148938

between you and me - i am pretty sure the block and the heads will need machining.

will bigger P&Cs in a otherwise stock 1.7 bring more HP?

thanks
jim

** of course being in sales, i said, "hell yeah" " they will fit right in, no problem" but now i am feeling guilty about that. damn, i hate having a conscience : )

From what I've read that others more knowledgeable than me , say block no need , heads definately .Check out Jakes web , might give some specs .
As far as sales go , well .........

The spigots on the case are the same on all cases. The heads on a 1.7 will need to be opened up to accept the larger cylinders.

How much for the P&C's ? Anything you need in trade?

thanks guys.

and i am pretty sure 1.8 heads can be used without modification?

Block will be fine but the cylinder registers need to be checked to see if they are collapsing.

Heads will need to be cut to accept bigger cylinders.

If you have 1.8 heads they should work fine.

The pin height on the 2.0L pistons is less then the 1.7-1.8. If he plans to use the 66mm stroke crank he will have a huge deck height.

so it sounds like with these P&Cs.

1- any block can be used.

2- 1.8 and 2.0 heads can be used unmachined.

3- 2.0 crank and rods should be used.
