I am (very slowly ) developing fuel injection system to my 3.0L six. I will use Finnish Hestec motormanagement system with direct ignition and three hall sensors.
With direct ignition the distributor of the car is left unused. So, I could put one sensor in the distributor and the rest two to the flywheel.
If one of the sensors is put in the dizzy, the dizzy need to be complitely re-build. All old plates, springs, cap and points will be removed. As a matter of fact, only body and axle is needed from the original distibutor. Now I would like to build my first prototype, but I don´t want to disturbe my current distributor. If I buy an extra one, should it be from SC engine too or can I use some old 2,7L dizzy ??
I think I have hear that some old engine blocks have smaller diameter of the shaft. Could somebody give me more information about this ?? Does 3.0 and 2.7 or 2.4 engine blocks have the same diameter of the distributor shaft and are the distributor bodys interchangeable in that way ??
Any ideas ??
