It works really good most always.

When I really hammer it, like at a/x, it starts to slip during the last runs.

When I do the spirited thing , again slippy.

When it cools off, all's good in my 914 world.

I'll put a terry cable in soon and this clutch is 500 miles old, max, 911 six spring.

Last clutch did it too, but it was oily. Replaced the rear main seal.

I just need to run 3 more events and then it's SIX o' clock.

well, if the old one was oily, then the new one might be oily too!
i assume you cleaned everything when you had it apart.
have you checked for leaky main shaft seal after you replaced it?
did you resurface the flywheel? new pressure plate?
is the pilot bearing in the right location?
is the clutch adjusted right? how far from the top does it dis-engage?

I had clutch problems till I went with the v8 system..

I recomend that!

I think my problem was a bad clutch.. but maybe you put the main seal in wrong and its still leaking?

I can't remember if the clutch cable was double nutted or not. Check that first.

right location is in the flywheel and *not* on the crank.

the main shaft won't have any support, it starts to "wobble", you'll spill a gallon of tranny oil all over your car and the bearings inside the tranny that hold the main shaft will say "bye bye".
and, if you're really lucky, it'll eat your case around the main bearings as well ...

not bad for a $5 part in the wrong place, huh?

Mark and I replaced the old cable with the Terry and all is right again. I will live happily ever after.

Coupla thoughts ............ ALWAYS replace the flywheel o-ring. ALWAYS. If you hears a metallic "stretchy" noise, a GOOD look at the clutch cable tube through the tunnell is in order ........................ The Cap'n

Flywheel o-ring? Where's that?

In the flywheel where the end of the crank slides in. In other words, on the crankshaft side of the five flywheel bolts.
