I'm converting a 74 to a 914-6. Does the relay board need to be switched to a 70 - 72 914-6 type? Is there a 911 board you can use?

Depends on the engine you are using. But typically, no, you are fine to keep the relay board you have. There is little to no mod's required for a 914-6 conversion.

I'm putting a 2.5 liter six with Webers and a Electomotive ignition. There was an eBay item for a NOS 914-6 relay board and it just got me thinking. Thanks for the info.

Save and use the wiring harness from you 4cyl engine. The one that plugs into the relay board. That should be enough.

Cool, a stroker 2.5! Those things rock! I wish I had one in my 914-6. They rev easy. I turn my 2.2 to 7k just cause I like the sound of it. One of these days I will probably hear lotso metal crunching too, but oh well, fun for now. biggrin.gif
