Hey Guys, I did some searching and have not found it yet but one or some of us have done this. I am replacing the front floor panel and installing my Engman Long kit and thought "I may as well". Can you direct me to who and what they used for the conversion. Is any year better than another. Thanks as always!

Do a Google Search for Armando Serrano 914 GT and then find a reference to "The 914/6 GT Project".

Way down deep you will find where he duplicated factory mods where they used a 911 style parking brake lever between the seats as you are referring to.

Not the most well planned idea as the cables have nowhere to go except into hot exhausts..... I prefer the factory routing of E-Brake cables, but that's just me.

My car is the 'unfinished' one in the post above. However I wish I had seen Jeff's install before I did mine.

This is what you are looking for:

I ended up having to fabricate cables from scratch - major PITA.

Jeff's is much better as he uses stock (passenger side) cables and his mounting bracket allows greater flexibility in attachment options.

Couldn't you just run a line lock to the rear brakes and make it e-brake handle activated?

Does not work well when the fluid cools down... Ask me how I know.

The fluid contracts when cold and will loosen the hold.

Guys,
Thanks again for the follow up....way better than me! I got distracted from the 914 but am back at it again. I am welding my new floor panel from Restoration Design adn fixing some Rocker Panel issues as well. Once all that is done, I will get my long kit installed as well. I have a busy winter ahead of me.
