Ok,

I am cleaning things up and this is what I noticed. To Worry?
Woody
What part of the tranny?

Rear under muffler bracket mounts. I can take another picture tomorrow.

Is it on the tail cone? Tail or side shift? If it is the tail cone you have two options:
1) Grind it out, clean it real good and Quiksteel it.
2) Replace the tail cone.

If it's not in a fluid area, stop drill the holes and fill with JB weld. If in fluid area, JB weld and pack it in.

Is it a real crack or just a superficial casting flaw?
Most of the mag damage I've seen is corrosion, bends real bad, snaps right off or has a big fuching hole in it.

Degrease it, sand it with coarse grit paper, degrease it again sand it some more and JB weld it. JB weld tends to run, so stand it up so the repair is level as you can get it, make a putty dam if needed.

It is the tail cone od a side shift. The vertical line is casting only looks like a crack. The cleaned area is acrack. Doesn't leak. So grind out a bit and jbweld?

Where are you in Pa - how far from Lehigh Valley?

I have magnesium filler wire if you're interested in getting a proper weld on that.
Dr Evil
I live in Washington, pa. Not close, but shipping is easy. Welding that crack would likely be cost prohibitive.

Depends on what you consider cost prohibitive.
Whats the price of a good used replacement?
A good welder, experienced at welding Mg, would make short work of that crack.
Not that I know anything about welding...
