Full Version: Which years for 19mm master brake cylinder?

I understand that the 914-6 and 4 cylinders from later years came with 19mm master brake cylinders. For 4-bangers, what year did this start? huh.gif

AFAIK 4 cylinder cars always had 17mm as stock. Many of us have added 19mm cylinders.
My 76 had a 17 until I changed it.

As far as i know they all came with the 17mm MC.

As far as i know they all came with the 17mm MC.

agree.gif I prefer the 17mm unit BTW. A lot of peeps like the firmer pedal of the 19mm.

Thanks, guys. Guess I heard/read wrong. Wouldn't be the first time I've misunderstood info and prolly not the last laugh.gif

I paid extra for a 17 over a 19. The 19 has better pedal feel but less pedal pressure to the calipers. I wanted max stopping power.
