Are the pads the battery sits on worthwhile?

Full Version: battery acid
Pads help if you use a traditional battery. They are not perfect. Best bet is to get a closed battery like Optima. Lots of threads on the subject
and some 99 cent felt washers to go around the terminals. red and green, sold at most parts stores

Battery acid and 914s don't go well together. Best to stay away from lead acid batteries.
Annual removal of the battery and washing the entire area with a mix of baking soda and water in a spray bottle, with a rinse of water also does wonders.

Paper towels and a good thorough job also works...

I also trim a pad to fit on the underside of the plastic cover to catch fumes that might be emitted from the battery caps.
