Can anyone recommends a fuel filter for a djet from the FLAPS.

Any fuel filter that will fit the line. I like the metal ones as I don't trust plastic or glass types.

Make sure it can deal with high pressure and volume. The little round filters that are commonly used on Bugs do not cope well with the pressures and flow rates that the D-jet (and other injection systems) demand. They'll leak, and you'll be unhappy.

Ummm.... isn't the filter before the pump?
It wouldn't have high pressure, but yes it would have the volume.

I prefer the filter made for a BMW 2002 Tii. Metal, made for FI, reasonably priced, and pretty readily available: 1 612 1 106 983. The plastic filter shown in the NAPA link is from an aftermarket source that's known to have leakage issues.

The Cap'n

Bumping a reeeeeaallly old thread (RIP Cap'n) but...looking for a metal replacement for 133133511. It's the same as Wix 33274 and Purolater F23175.

It's unique in that it has a 10mm inlet and 13mm outlet.

Anyone have a suitable metal replacement for the square plastic jobby? The smaller in diameter, the better.

If not...I may get a barb fitting adapter to go from my 5/16" (? 10mm) stainless line to the 1/2" (13mm) pump inlet and relocate my inlet filter using a simple 5/16" inline fuel filter.

I put in two filters.

One low pressure filter before the pump to keep out the tank crud. I started this when the tank socks were NLA. I use the filter for a 70s carbureted Ford, mounted on the inlet side of the pump. It's hose connection is the same size as the larger fitting on the bottom of the tank. The other end is threaded. This works with the Airtex E8445 pump. I just hook the filter to the metal cap on the suction side of the Airtex pump.

In the engine compartment, I use a fuel filter from a 1987 Nissan Pulsar. It fits the lines, and is a fine mesh filter to keep crud out of the injectors.
