Seller claims it is a real M471 car. popcorn[1].gif

No way on the M471...the flares are also not symmetrical like they should be. But it IS AWESOME thought ain't it?

The VIN is VERY low...thanks to Gustl and other experts we know they were not built in perfect sequential order but still...that's an early one!

Nice but the M-471? bs.gif Fares are wrong, wrong, wrong. Only possibility is one of the two owners modified the original flairs. But the vin also doesn't seem to be in the range.

Interesting to watch that as older Porsches (even the lowly 914) rise in value, provenance and pedigree start playing a huge role in actual price/desireability.

When you can't spell the name of the town your business is in and you spend $5000 to rebuild two Webers, eyebrows will raised.
Still a great looking car. Nothing wrong with some nice hips. Still a 2 litre ?
Love to do a walk around of this one.
Love to see what the factory scribbled on the COA

btw - here are some excerpts from a 12-2009 sales ad - make your own mind on the Quality of the current description:

The tire flares are non-standard additions but the car is otherwise original, including the engine, which makes it a collectors item.

We are only the third owner.

Location: SLC, UT, United States

The odometer isn't working (stopped at 67,704).

Good catch. It doesn't take long for history to get "stretched" when prices rise! As always, caveat emptor dry.gif

agreed with above - goofy flares,

seller claims $5K spent on Weber rebuild - Huh? - you can buy NEW PMO's for that

where are these "got bags of money", noncritical cash bidders when I want to sell a car?
