COTM June 2013 - It's back! OK, 914World members, it's time to nominate your pick for the car of the month! This contest is run by members for members, to enjoy some competition and celebrate the great Porsche 914. Here are the guidelines:

1. Nominate your pick for COTM through June 20th (no self nominations).
2. Your pick must be seconded by another 914world member to be officially nominated (only those 914s seconded will be part of the poll).
3. The first five (5) cars nominated and seconded form the roster for the poll.
4. Poll will be open for 10 days, starting June 21st and closing at 23:59 EST June 30th.
5. Winner announced July 1st (Canada Day, eh, for you Canucks!)
6. The winning car will be featured on 914World home page until the subsequent winner is announced.

I always admired Rod's car (Root) ever since I saw it @ the ECC @ Scotty B's shop this past October.

I can't remember what year the car is, but its flared, lowered, and has a 1.7L in it currently. I dig the blacked out look. Plus, its Kudzu approved.

Already! Geez, can't we give Erc a few more weeks. We bumped Erc for Al (very much appreciated), then we leave Al's (and you know I loved Al) car up for 6 mo's. Erc busted his butt and rendered a fine example unto us.

Me too, rare sight for me and Amy to be in a picture...that should change when the 914 is all done up. Cool to see a couple from the 356 crowd I run with in the shot too

You know, I was going to nominate a car the minute I saw this thread then saw that my car is in it already (Thanks Wills and Elliot!).

Then I thought, well why the hell not?! Then I saw that there are five already, but not all have been seconded.

So, while it may be a bit odd, my car being in this competition already, since there are two other non-big-motor entries are there that haven't been seconded, I'd like to second Neun Veirzehns amazing '70.


Tangent:
Competition is good and this isn't much more than a popularity contest anyway - but what's awesome about these COTM things that I really love is that it shows off all sorts of cool cars and gives us collectively a lot of ideas seeing what others have done without having to go across the country to see it in person, as the case may be.

One may guess rather easily that I'm not shy about modifications to the 914 - though I am definitely appreciative of those that work to preserve them, it's just not to my own taste. Make 'em rock as well as roll, I say.

And yes, I'm officially coming out of the closet as a fan of Mahle gas burners. Whew, what a relief to finally say it!

Yes, I made an error earlier on the 5th nomination (sincere apologies to all). When I QC'd this list I realized time stamps placed the nomination/second of ezbngreen914 as the 5th spot on the roster.

She's not just a pretty face, haha. I even one upped a Boxster that day (my 1st autox). Not the fastest car in the running by any means but she does get driven.
