The trunk pivot point is a bolt welded on the back of a bracket and the bracket welded onto the inner fender.
Remove the hinge and the pivot point will be obvious. This is a common break.

i used the "much cursing" method of re-setting the torsion springs...
it kinda appears you might be able to get away with adding some type of sleeve to locate the pivot bolt but, only if you're a cheap lazy bastid like me!
