The definition of Quirk is a peculiarity of action or behavior.
As we know, our teeners have more than their share of quirks. I was thinking about some today and I think my teener had most of them one time or another.
1. Rust
2. Hell Hole, see Number 1!
3. Broken odometer
4. Broken trunk hinge
5. Leaking tunnel fuel lines
6. Vapor Lock (Okay, Krusty says differently but something happen!)
7. Back window rattles
8. Door mechanism broke (Door would not open from outside)
9. Rear trunk will not lock.
I am sure there more that I have forgotten and please feel free to add.

In all the years I've worked on 914s, beginning at the dealership in 1973, I don't recall ever seeing a fuel leak in the tunnel. Every plastic line failure I've seen was caused by human error, and none (well, except the one I punctured with a torch while welding the clutch tube) leaked INSIDE the tunnel.
Add to your list: Ignition switch failure (VW part, VW problem), Logic relay failure (1974 only), clutch tube failure, clutch cable/throttle cable interference (again, human error), and windshield washer problems (A), the hoses in the steering column leaking on your leg, and (B) the reservoir draining into the spare tire (again, a VW design problem).

I am reliably informed by an ex-cheerleader friend of mine that a 914 can hold six cheerleaders. One driving, one in the passenger's seat, one on the "temporary" cushion in the middle, and three across the Targa bar.
I'd have loved to see that!
