Are these the same as early 911 air filter housings? I may have one from a 1970 911T

Is this pointing to the right side?
I think the snorkel should point to the passenger side facing the front of the car.
experts ?

I believe the pictures are correct, which shows the inlet to the filter pointing to the passenger side of the car.

Inlet is pointing the wrong way....
Looks like it could be flipped around?

Without seeming argumentative, I had this exact air cleaner on my 1966 911 that was fitted with Solex carbs. There is a vacuum fitting on the back side of the air cleaner (opposite side from where the snorkel is located. That vacuum fitting faces the front of the car. So, all the views given in this ad can be a little bit confusing.
So, to be perfectly clear....if you were to stand at the rear of the car and opened the engine lid to look at the engine, the snorkel should be pointing to the right which is the passengers side of the car. The "Y" shaped tee located at the inlet to the snorkel should be pointing "down".

I am confused. Ahold the snorkel gave the rear trunk or the back window?
If it should face the back window then the one on the picture, when installed, if flipped around the T will face up.

According to a few threads here, it should look like this
If someone can confirm it can be flipped then it's good

I'll dig mine out today, to check
The 914/6 one should be metal - the plastic ones were for the 72-73 911 MFI systems.

Just to be clear you need the 2 parts that mount on the carbs as well, as seen on the left in this pic.

That air filter housing should work fine in a 914. The snorkel sits just above the engine cooling fan. Since in a 911 the cooling fan faces the rear of the engine bay, the snorkel faces to the right as viewed from behind the car looking forward.
Since the 911 engine cooling fan faces the firewall when installed in a 914 (i.e the motor is rotated 180 degrees), the snorkel is now facing to the left ( towards the oil tank). It should work fine; or you can always shorten the snorkel with a hack saw.
