Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows the procedure to replace the steering lock on a '71 914??

Thanks Jim, I saw that but its different than mine, mine just has one plug on the back so its quite a bit different

thanks, it kinda does, looks like Ill have to tear the sheathing off and pull the connector apart and pull the whole thing up through the keyhole sad.gif

anyone on here actually do it?

if you need to pull these wires thru ..

this is a bullet plug, you can slide the top forward and off (blue arrow), and then pop all the bullets out. take some good pics first.

then maybe the top piece of sheathing will slide off/forward? (red arrow)

thanks! done, I took 3 pictures, at different angles and now I have it all apart, it doesnt seem to be pulling through though, odd...

funny when you have the instructions, things are so much easier. I have been fighting with that thing for a week, lol. Hopefully the new ignition fits in my car!
