When I removed these, the slot was facing up. The book says they should be facing down. confused24.gif Which is correct? Does it matter? If facing up is wrong, they have been like that since I installed ceramic lifters about 9 years ago. WTF.gif If there is a way to eff this up I will find it. laugh.gif

Yep, the slots face down....that's where the push rod tube retainers fit into.

The slots hold the spring. I don't use a spring. So I guess it doesn't matter then, if they are up or down if not using a spring?

So, no spring, rocker stands upside down, and tons of RTV.

Evidently you like smoking heat exchangers and/or oil leaks...
