Ok, I am such a noob when it comes to things that look out of place. What is the extra box next to my fuse panel?

Thanks.

I know I need a better schematic

that is the shock sensor for aftermarket alarm; always hot, if you tap it, an LED should flash.

Looks like a Transponder so if you cash they can send search planes out to find you.
So don't turn it off. OK?

Car Alarm. The chip (LM2902) is dated 9248 (48th week of 1992).... The rubber band looking thing is probably a vibration sensor.

I doubt it is an alarm.
There aren't enough connections.
Car alarms have lots of pins typically on a header to sense and control things.
Plus the LM2902 is an op amp, a simple amplifier, not any sort of microcontroller.
I'm with dangrouche in that it is just the motion sensor
for alarm that is/was somewhere else.
