Hi all, well since hearing about the clutch tube, I decided to take the carpet out of the way and removed the shift adjustment plate, and there was no movement of the tube. Then I removed the shifter assembly, and no movement of the tube. I'm glad u guys mentioned that when I was asking bout clutch adjusting. This old 71 914 is very solid. My wife was real impressed when I first took her for a ride. She couldn't believe how good it went down the road. I'm going to retire in 2 yrs. So I will be restoring it gound up. I did a full restore on a 74 Lotus JPS Europa special with only 19,000 miles on it. It just got to hard for me to go in and out of it, so I sold to the guy I bought it from. rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif 914 much easier getting in and out. Well anyway, thanks for the info on clutch tube.
