After making my special Tie Rod Wrench some people expressed interest in a strut wrench so I made one. It 's laser cut out of 0.25" steel and would come bare. The great thing about this wrench is that it works on the top retaining washer as well as the special retaining nut (914-341-804-00) that is standard on stock 914 Boge struts.

Please note: This wrench will only work with what is pictured below. Please confirm that it will work for you.

I looked into pricing and these would cost $30 shipped conus. I would need at least 20 people for this to happen. If we get more people the price may come down a little bit. Please post here if you are seriously interested in one. Thanks.

Closes 9/12. I'll be placing the order the end of the day on 9/12

9/30. Wrenches arrived. PMs have been sent to all those interested.

I can't quarentee that it will. I don't have Koni hardware to compare it to. The stock washer measures approximately 63mm in diameter so the tool is designed for that.

International shipping is available. It would be $41 instead of $31.

Crap....

I was thinking of an open ended wrench to fit the cap on the shock insert.

John

Actually I see now that that would work if you drop the strut?

The top strut washer not particular to Koni but the early cars did use a smaller washer.

Koni strut inserts use a different type of retaining nut. More like a spaner wrench is needed.

Very good information. Thank you. Do you know if early cars still had the same retaining nut for the insert? Assuming non koni/bilstein.

Yes the early cars had the same insert retaining nut if they had Boge struts.

My Konis are 61mm

Will having Konis make a difference in ordering ?

It all depends on what hardware you have but more than likely Konis will have their special retaining nut that won't work with this wrench.

green914
Last chance to get in on the order is today ... smile.gif

That is exactly what my Koni washer looks like.
