Hi. I have decided to change out both my transmission mounts and had planned to lift the car on to blocks, take the weight of the engine, lower it and remove the rear mounts. But it seems that I should also at least loosen the front mount cross bar so that it won't stress when I lower the transmission end of the engine. Is that correct?

Also are there any tricks I should know about that will reduce the aggro level.
Thanks Richard

I just did this and I did not loosen the fronts at all.

You only need to lower about 1/2" which translates to a degree or two.

Keep it simple, do as Stu mentioned. Support the engine, remove bolts, drop engine and tranny a few degrees, and remove/install. No probs and pretty simple so low aggro level.
