Depends on who you ask. Most retailers will tell you that 100 lb/in is the stock rate.
There's an old Pano article that talks about several different spring rates, denoted by paint marks on the springs. IIRC, the lowest was in the 60 lb/in range; the highest might have been 85 lb/in.

I thought that was true - which seems odd because it seems like the 4s are running stiffer springs. There must be an explanation. I know that the original six was not an exceptionally heavy engine, but it must have weighed at least a little bit more than the 4. I know that info is readily available here - too lazy to look it up and besides I think the main part of the statement is true. So were the 4s sold with even lower spring rates than 100?
Also, how have the coleman springs panned out for anyone using them? I have the same issue to resolve for my 3.2. Soon as I finish the oil tank the motor goes in.
