Historically were external battery isolation switches required or used on any of the racing 914s or 911s. I bought a switch from Summit and mounted on left side of engine grill where the small mesh panel was located and fabricated a stronger panel to hold it. Looked kind of racy but I thought maybe a little pretentious so I took it off. If there was some precedent for it I think I would reinstall. Calling all you historians.

Yep, all the GT's had a kill switch. Most the pic's i've seen had em mounted on the right side in the mesh area.

The engine release pull toggle was relocated to the left side.

Don't think there are MANDATED locations....just that they are noticiably labeled...Manfred has it above where the stock battery used to be....even though it is in behind the passenger seat now....

I like to be able to get to mine pronto. Corner worker can reach it too.
