Thanks, for all the comments, good and bad.

It's like some one said here, It's not the $65 as much, as the bull, they tried to lay on me about the $65. Shit, I droped $240 on 1 roll at the Craps Table at the Pala Casino, out the Riverside Area, the Wk end before last, and in an hour and half, I walked out of there, with an extra $600, with which I bought a set of 48 drla's.
Some one said I should try and talk to them, I tried, I didn't scream, or hollar, I didn't even raise my voice, I talked to them in a professional manner, and as I was listening to his crap, and right in the middle of what he was saying I, just turned around, shaking my head, and went out the door, as I went out the door he had made some snide remark flipa.gif , but I just kept goimg, I guess I pissed him off, turning my back on him, and shaking my head .

Here"s a post this guy sent me, he had a small problem with Rimco.

Rimco does thousands of jobs a year... I am sure that out of those thousands they are going to piss off a few people- Its inevitable, but that does not mean that its a common occurance.

I used to live about 2 miles from there at the Tustin Marine base. Back then I built engines in my barracks room (over 300 of them) and totally depended on Rimco to do all the work on those engines that I could not do in my wall locker!

I had ONE issue the entire time with their work and that was one rod was 15 thou shorter than the rest of the set. They made it good.

I think a tactful to the point letter would get you some results-

Shaking ones head when leaving pretty much gets you no where, unless you are a teenager..... Last time someone did that to me they ended up with their car showing up at their house in pieces and they had no idea how to put it back together- All over 50 bucks on a 40,000 buck job.

Write them a letter, be tactful and professional and you should get results(as long as they don't remember you were the guy that walked out shaking his head)

Jake, I love it when you post on threads like this. It does nothing but built confidence in the engine I'll be getting when I can finally afford it. I've been screwed on work before and its a PITA. Nice to know someone is not only willing to do it right, but defend those who think the same.

BTW: I have trouble passing field day doing 'glass work in the barracks, how'd you manage engines?

Alex, Thanks..

I was also the Barracks manager and made sure that the inspectors didn't spend much time in my room...

BUT, I also had an old laundry room on 3rd deck converted into an engine shop- Building engines on top of washing machines and at the end of the night storing all the parts inside dryers in case someone odd walked in was a true experience!

Hell, I built a 2232 TI under my office desk in the Barracks manager's office during working hours and no one even knew what I was doing! Latex gloves could be removed in a hurry in case someone walked in....

That was really fun!

...Almost all the engines here now are going into 356s.... A stock engine rebuild for a 356 cost 8-9K done right just to get MAYBE 90 HP.... So what I do for that same cost is very inviting to that crowd- One of them has bought 4 engines from me in the last year alone!
...

Wow! I did not know that -- learned something new today! Very cool beer.gif

Hey, I decided on a new name, for Rimco, I think REAMCO, sounds about right.
