I AM!!!! I took the 914 out for some covert test drives last night. I finally have brakes and it's running pretty good so I put some extra license plates on and let 'er rip! I had taken it around the block before but with NO brakes. John Lush hooked me up with a set of nice tires and a rear caliper. THANKS JOHN!
I got up to about 50-60 MPH but only drove about 2 miles. I still don't have official paperwork or tags so I was cautious. This weekend I hope to take it out for a longer drive during daylight - but still totally illegal!
There are a few pressing adjustments:
1. Valves seem to be clicking - so I'll adjust those
2. Brakes are still soft so I need to bleed again
3. Carbs need dialing in. The RPM's went up to about 2500 at idle after the test run. I don't know why but it's not good! Could it be the Bosch 009 dizzy? I've heard others gripe about the 009??
Any Weber 44 IDF pros out there that could help out????
MANY THANKS TO THE 914 CLUB FOLKS FOR HELPING ME GET MY 914 ON THE ROAD!!
Cheers!
Nate
