Wow. Smoking deal for what looks like an incredible car to drive. The smile under your helmet tells the whole story. My days of purpose-built race car are over--if this was even marginally streetable I'd be writing you a $19.5K check right now.

Thank you, sir. It is a blast to drive. You know, someone could easily take all the -6 and go fast bits off of this car and put them on a street car shell. That would probably be the least expensive 6 conversion one could do. I never thought about that. You could make a 914-6 conversion for a few thousand dollars more than just buying a good 4 cylinder 914.

Great idea--but has the motor been built for doing miles or doin' hours?

You would be surprised. It was built for longevity and just happens to be wicked fast too. Heck, it started out like this.

A fast street car I drove into events and around town. Surprised many o' kids in their 5.0 mustangs, street rods, other toys and such. Ha ha ha

Thanks. It was a different kind of cool when younger but weren't we all. Though, it matured into a fine beast of a purpose built car.

Yea, it is much lighter and went from street car to autocross monster. But, as I said, you could easily make the former from a roller and my car. Transfer all the parts and drive off. It's all there sitting in front of you, working, so you just move the stuff over. It really is easier than it looks. I've had a few and it's just nuts and bolts.

I built the one with the white wheels you see there from one left out to pasture, under a tarp for a couple of decades. Not a spot of rust on her, though. Someone should pick it up if for the $70K in parts alone. I have $7K in the trans of this thing. Around $28K in the engine... etc. It adds up quick.

Well, lets edit the $70K. That included the car all the parts went on so slight depreciation because some of that is missing. He he he
