Would vapor lock keep a fuel pump from actually running? ('74 2.0)
I am looking over an aquantances 914, basically the guy stopped me when he saw my car and asked if I knew anything about them. So I went to his house and this is what I found.
Car runs fine until it's warmed up and stopped. Then I noticed when cycling the ingnition switch for the fuel pump it was not pumping, no buzzing sound. I swapped relays on the board and got one buzz then no more again. Pump is new, still in stock location.
Any ideas?

Thinking about it more I'm going to go with ground/electrical problem. Heat can change resistance in wiring, especially if it's corroded. I'll start by checking continuity from the relay board to the pump. I did notice that someone has put some additional material on the underside of the relay board.
I'll also shove a magnet down in the gas tank. Good idea...
