Okay, I know this post already flies in the face of the overwhelmingly DYI spirit of this forum, but I was looking for some recommendations on places that can perform a quality bare metal restoration on a late model 914.

I've already tried two (which will not be named) with pretty discouraging results. I can do a lot of maintenance things myself, but welding, body work, paint, full engine rebuilds, etc... are outside the range of my tools and skill set (just being realistic). I'm looking for a place that can handle the complete restoration project.

I shipped my car from CA to VA for Scotty at Kahiko Customs in Charles City, VA. Scotty knows these cars inside out and upside down too. You don't want your car going to someone to learn about 914's. You want them to know what they are dong and how to do it. I can recommend Scotty without reservation.
