Hi,

I am looking at the trans numbers on my 5/70 US delivered 914-6.
They seem to line up with the data I have from the internet.
However I also have an extra '10' stamped on.
Is this the indicator for a LSD ?
The CofA says a 80% LSD but there is nothing driving wise to indicate that its actually working.
My mechanics tell me the trans has never been apart.

Cheers,
Dennis. smile.gif

If the trans has not been apart it should have an aluminum tag on the differential side cover specifying use of a particular Shell lubricant.
I think the serial number or type number should include HB..... going from vague memory here.
I'd have to look at my transmissions or notes.
One more thing.... the number 11 where yours has a 10 may be an indicator of LSD
Or..... just rotate one of the drive flanges.
IF the other one rotates in the same direction it's a LSD
Opposite direction ? open rear.

Hello Dennis
Don't have a 6 trans with LSD to check how it is designated
Photos are of a rear shifter 4 cyl. with LSD
The tag, the HB in the ID numbers and the hub turning test will tell the story.
