Hey Qarl,
I stopped at the local MI Lotus/Elise dealer today. They had (5) cars in stock. Hands down I like the Saffron Yellow & close behind the Chrome Orange. Ok, maybe my other choice is Krypton Green. These (3) colors would look great on our teeners. If I were painting orange it would be Chrome Orange. What an outstanding Orange. Any of these (3) colors you don't need a horn. Man, they can see you coming.

Tom
BTW Qarl,
They gave me a color chart, do you have one or want mine??

Sorry guys,

The Orange one was pulling away from the lot when I pulled up. I saw it and was it a great color. Befoe I could get my camera out & it was gone. Engine sounded great like our modified teeners.

So sorry, the Chrome Orange would look outstanding on a teener. I have a color chart & I will try to scan it & post.

Maybe Qarl has an orange pic.??

Tom
Another Green

I have a color chart.

I will post a Chrome Orange pic in a bit.

It's like Signal Orange, but with metallic flake in it! ohmy.gif

I saw a black Elise today.
It was one of the few cars I have ever seen that I did not like in black.

I love the elise in black because it hides all the black accent stuff that I'm not too into. black elise with the black wheels would be hot.
Qarl
Since I am getting the 914's paint redone (too many issues to fix)... I am SERIOUSLY thinking about painting it to match the Elise.

That Saffron Yellow is really great looking...

I saw an Elise in Golden Gate park the other day. it was something like a charcol grey. Those cars look like a blast to drive.

Krypton Green - sounds like Krylon Green biggrin.gif

You know it doesn't look bad. It's just that the black doesn't show the contrast with the fins and vents like the other colors do. On most other cars black paint defines the body contours. On the Elise I think the bright colors look best.

The HofbrÀuhaus is reserved for only when there are special visitors in town.
I'm ready to go back. chowtime.gif When are you comming out again?

Elise vs Corvette at the Nurburgring.
Place your bets and then watch the video. (56k warning)
Qarl
I haven't watched... but I say the Vette.

The Elise is like the 914... it's not a straight line killer... it gets 'em in the twisties...

I will watch the video now...

I happen to like this orange. It's pretty close to Chrome Orange.

Qarl
Soloracer... you gotta change your avatar... It gives me the willies!

Oh my. I've ALWAYS wanted an Elise, but did NOT like the looks. That just changed. Black it is. drooley.gif

Crap, wish you hadn't shown that Green color, it's almost just like Ravenna! Looks like Lotus dipped into the ole 914 color book for their choices no?
Qarl
I tell you... it's because of the 914 that I am so drawn to the Elise...

The more you look into the Elise... you realize it is the 30-year modern version of the 914. So many things are similar it is eerie.

The colors are similar, mid engine, cockpit configuration.

Even things like the...

Driver's seat - movable
Passenger seat - fixed in position like the 70-72 914s...

kermit
I totally agree. In some ways, the Elise is the pure lightweight sports car that Porsche stopped building decades ago.

As involved in the PCA as I have been, if it came down to it, I'd buy an Elise over a Boxster - and the Boxster is a GREAT car!
TravisNeff
I like the Orange, would be better in a Tangerine shade.

You would like the Elise creations from Hunting Ridge Motorsports.

They have been producing custom Elises for the past 6 months or so...
