I sent my rear trunk lock mechanism some where along the way the threads were damaged. I have tried cleaning them up with a file but no luck. Next I intend to buy a nut and cut it in half clamp it tight then remove the nut.

The problem is that I don't know what size nut to buy

Thanks

Hi David
The nut is 32mm....you need a standard socket, not an impact.
The damaged threads are likely only on the cylinder rather than the nut......unless you forced it.
What kind of file did you use ?
There is a special file just for outside threads.
Ask for a thread file in your FLAPS.
The thread on your lock cyl. is 1.00 (I just checked)

Thanks everybody. Yes first I tried the special thread file. Yes a spare nut would be great either Dan or Garold

When you say you sent it somewhere. Was it by chance re-chromed?

No, I had it powder coated

It is brass and looks good burnished with a fine wire wheel.
