I don't know. According to the mechanic, there are 3 depths of oil pans for the LS3 w/480 horse, and we have on the shortest, which still is about 1 1/2" below the engine bar from Renegade. He was going to research on what else would work that would be no lower than the engine bar.
Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?
Otherwise, the engine is basically in, and hooked up to the Boxster trans.

You could pull the pan and measure the clearances for the crankshaft and sump to see what you could do to make the pan shorter, and you could also consider a dry sump if you are still concerned.

If this is a renegade cradle. Which locks like it was cut & modified as it sits. Why was it changed. I mean this is made for the LS motor right? So why was it cut & changed. They have to take all the LS things into account. Do they use a custom oil pan to make it work? Something isn't right with that setup? Is the motor supposed to sit a little higher so the pan isn't a problem? Hopefully Bob Bigkat will chime in or Cracker as they both have LS setups

Not sure, but when I looked in there, I don't see how it could be up higher, as it is close to the back, where the front of the trunk is.

Send Tony "Cracker" a PM. Think he has a handle on the LS3 stuff.
