I wonder what he paid for all these cars. Be interesting (to me anyway) to know just how much they went up in value. Factor in storing them, maint, insurance over the years. I'm sure he didn't lose any money.

1974 911 seems a tad overpriced

His CGT prototype did not sell apparently. And from what I heard, since it is a prototype it can't even be driven on public roads. That narrows the available buyers a little!!

Rare for a reason...ugliest modification ever to a poor 964, what was Porsche thinking?

Think he purchased from the late Matt Drendel collection. It has no race history and built from spares. Don't get me wrong I'd hit it, but looks like he probably wanted out due to no pedigree on the car...took a $ loss too.

and unless it sold AFTER the auction, it did not sell. It left the stage with the auctioneer stating " I will not let this car go for nothing" and was rolled off unsold at the time. He paid 4m + fees when he got it. which yes, ended up around 4.4m
I'm perplexed about the beetle. It was an all original car with rusty hinges, dents and dings etc. Makes no sense why it went so high unless there is some history I didn't read, Makes me happy I held onto my Oval window
. The Jagdenwagen was the hit of the show, and went for well over it's estimate.

Thanks for the list Toolguy! Wow! Jerry once looked at a 69 912 I had many years ago. It was fun meeting him and Sam his guy who really went through the car with a fine tooth comb. The car had won several Street Division Concours in the late 80's. In the end it had a few too many miles for them and they begged off but it has always been a good story to tell. Always wonder what happened to it after I sold it?

I am officially jealous! The 550 is my absolute favorite car. About twice a month I find myself looking at 550 kit cars. I can't even imagine having the opportunity to sit in a real 550 let alone getting to drive it. Please post some pictures!

Been there done that in a Carrera GT Speedster, was fun until 4 yahoos stuffed into the cab of a yard business truck would not got off my ass in stop n go traffic. They kept inching up to within half a foot laughing and pointing. My nerves were shot.
Have fun, nerves aside I know I did.

Out of the whole thing, the price for the 1960 Beetle is the most ridiculous to me.
