I have never driven in the rain with my car. I do not have a rain tray and running a small block with a air filter that has an open top. How much rain can I suck into the engine and not have a problem?Click to view attachment

Could you duct tape a piece of cardboard over the top or attach it to the lid in that section? Then just throw it away?

Hey is that a Beck body kit on your car? And BTW Jerry you live like 15 minutes from me! I'm in Plainfield.

Hey George everything OK? Hope it's nothing too serious.

Had the pleasure of having a burst appendix back in January and have been hospitalized and in rehab till last week when I was finally able to get home. Very poor feeling in my legs (due to the lengthy hospitalization), and lost the use of my left arm (cause unknown). I hope to get it's use back, but right now I'm just a passenger and still tire easily. Gotta stay positive!

Pete - yes please bring your son, this is a family event.

George - wishing you a full & speedy recovery. we will miss not having you here.

Jerry - I would think Chris idea would work.

Just wanted to say again you don't need to bring a 914 to come. We all have the sickness so drive whatever you want, just come hang out with other 914 nuts and enjoy some food and fellowship.

See you tomorrow. jsharp.gif chowtime.gif drunk.gif driving.gif driving-girl.gif smilie_pokal.gif party.gif

It was great meeting, and talking to some of you & finally putting some faces to the names. I showed up more than fashionably late, and missed quite a few of you, but I had a great time!

A big thank you to Garold & his wife, for hosting this event, as well as his in-laws for their hospitality! I had alot of fun, learned some things, and the world got a little smaller!

After I download the pix off my camera I'll post them up!

Garold,

Just s short note to express my gratitude to you and your family for hosting this annual BBQ. Even though I have passed my 914 onto my son who lives out of state, I still have a tremendous interest in the cars and the 914 group that hangs together in this area of the country.

I was the guy that showed up in the maroon 993. I also brought a "new" acquaintance, Al Zamora, who currently does not own a 914; but, is thinking about acquiring one. He arrived at your place in the nice tangerine 911T.

I ran into some old friends at this affair, and spent some time discussing VW's with your Dad, since he is of my era. I was sorry to see that Brad Mayeur was not up to making the trip. Brad did a great deal of work on my conversion car. Truly a saint of a guy.

So, thank you for your thoughtfulness and hospitality. You are one of the ones that make 914's a great hobby in the Chicagoland area. Hope to see you next year, with or without a 914 in my stable.

Regards,

Ernie Rossi

Thanks Gerold & family for inviting all of us over to your house.

Good times all around!

One mistake we always make is not taking photos of the cars with owners as well. Makes for a nice remeberance of the event. Hope to be able to make it next year!

I thought about this afterward too - I also got there late and missed a bunch of people. It would be good to get everyone together for a group photo if possible.

I had hoped to meet you this year George - I read your post about your health issues, made the minor ones I've been having seem, well, minor! Keep chugging along, I'll be hoping for you to have an increasingly speedy & full recovery!
designerguy90
Thanks again for your hospitality Garold and putting on such a great event. What made it even better was not having to get trailered home this year. beerchug.gif

Wish I was there had a wedding to go to. Funny I bought some Turbo Twist wheels from AL Zamora on Sunday picked them up at his house in Muncie, IN. nice guy. He has an '02 Turbo besides the '69 911T. He was very interested in my Tangerine 914-6.
