Cost?
Depends on what needs to get done and what kind of shape the TB is in. But anywhere from $275-$365 I believe. In my case it was $300. That included zinc plating of the throttle spring and associated parts. New throttle plate (butterfly). TB bore is machined (1mm larger). Re-bushed. Bead blasted body. Custom throttle stop installed. The throttle stop helps the plate from contacting the side of the TB bore. Stock, the plate rested against the bore and eventually causes wear and a sticking plate.
I am going back to FI, and with the TB off the car the throttle plate felt sticky when I actuated the throttle by hand. So I figured I'd have this work done. I'm trying my best to get everything checked, rebuilt or restored. Hopefully that will make the install go a little more smoothly and I'll have a better chance of the car firing up on the first try once the FI retrofit is complete.
