Glad that you ordered that COA I was curious what information is displayed for a 914 4-cylinder maybe you can post a picture and Mark out your VIN ?, that would be cool reading. Nice car by the way..
I think that is the first COA that I have ever seen for a 914 that had a trans number listed. Usually says n/a. Nice.

Nice to her that PCNA got one right first time out! 
Those 185/70HR15 or VR were a common upgrade, & could be ordered on the -6 & /4, while the 165HR15 (/80) Dunlop SP57s were the standard size for both -6 & the 2.0L /4s.
So your use of 185s for 40 years was not at all out of character & period correct, & IMHO a better performing all around fit for 914s - than are the bigger 195 & 205 tires with more rolling resistance & unsprung weight than the 165s or 185s.

Actually, I included a note with the application that listed the VIN, engine number, trans number, and chassis number from the trunk as a 'what I have now'. I assumed if there was a discrepancy, they would let me know.

No, but if someone can get PCNA to put whatever numbers they send them on a Post-it note on a COA, it makes the document pretty worthless. Like others have mentioned, generally there is no trans serial number listed, so 'matching numbers' for the trans doesn't come into play. I just sent them what I had-apparently PCNA concurred or they wouldn't have printed it.
