I need to try a different voltage regulator and I live in the Modesto area. I'm driving a '76 with the 2.0 engine, Optima Red battery. I just installed a new alternator, and it's putting out 18 volts to the battery, not good! When I installed the new alternator, I also put in a new Beru 024 VR, so I want to try another VR and see if the Beru is the problem. Anyone in the area have an extra one by chance?
Also, I have read that the Optima batteries need a little higher charging voltage. Does anyone recommend an adjustable VR like the one sold at DaveBarton.com for my application, and what voltage should I set it for if I get one? thanks

...People in the Know say, replace them together.....Alternator/Voltage regulator
and you should try the solid state of your choice; I like and use Borg/Warner. :i idea.gif bye1.gif
