I am looking for a 1971 ignition lock. It looks like so:

Picture here. Part number 914.347.019.00

I don't necessarily need the switch but the lock and tumbler. In 1971 they were a bit shorter than the 72 and later.

They no longer make the lock for an early car. It appears that they are made for the later cars only. If anyone knows whether you can disassemble the lock on a later car and put the tumbler into the slot. I have the cylinder but not the tumbler.

Thanks, Chris

Luke M
I may have one from my 71 that I parted out years ago.
Give me sometime to go dig through some boxes and I'll get back to you.

Found it but it's missing the rear tab piece.
It's also missing the key.
Pm me if you're interested to work out the details.

Thanks. I was just at a wreaking yard and discovered two 914's which I will post in the. VIN database. Between the two cars he only has one ignition and will not part with it. I was happy to learn that he will be restoring the cars rather than parting them out. Let me know if you find the ignition switch. It's a.bugger to get it out but there is a good thread on how to do it in the info section of 914 world.

I may just give that a try. If a key goes through the tumbler and is what actually moves the switch, it might work. Not sure. I might also use it to plug the hole and put a button elsewhere???

PM on the way.

If anyone else can find one, I'm still in the market.
