Hi folks!

Finally making some progress on my 2056 project.

I'm in the early setup stage and have some flow
dynamic questions for the public:

My ITB are ID 45mm, manifold 47/36 and my 2L
heads 36mm.

Do you guys believe that the 45 to 47mm step will
cause some issues?

Also, the intake's outer bolt area has too much "meat"
for the head studs - market red.

I was thinking of grinding down the extra material.

Last but not least, what's a good place to source 45/36mm
intakes?

Thanks for your feedback!

LOVE IT! There's just something about ITBs...
Please keep posting - I'm interested to see the system come together!
Keep it up!

Almost every carb install has that same step. It's not ideal, but it'll work. What about different manifolds? There's 4 or 5 different kinds. You might kill two problems at once.

I think the boss is thinner on the CB talls.

That looks great! Love the ITB's.

I remember those manifolds. I still have some. I preferred them for my race engines.

The 2mm step won't hurt flow. Even with a carb set-up (wet flow) the step isn't an issue.

I would just pull the studs out of the head and replace with longer studs. Lot of work to machine that material away.

I have a the same stubby manifolds. Always wondered what they were off of. Any advantage/disadvantage to using the short manifolds?

Sorry if this is a hijack. I just wondered if you're using them for any particular reason such as performance or clearance, or just because that's what you have on hand.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you sell longer studs by any chance, respectively, any suggestions where to get them?

McMark
I just cut you a set of longer studs, and I already have your address.

But I also realized (based on our off-forum emails) that you won't be able to use these manifolds and my coil mounts. The coil mounts might work on a 'normal' set of manifolds.
McMark
Checked a set here. Different manifolds will work. You need to pick if you're going to use the coil mounts or the manifolds you have.

Who makes this system. I'm growing tired of my Webers. Or maybe I just need another project. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the double-check and the "other" picture. makes perfect sense now.

As in regards to "Different manifolds will work", which one did you use?

McMark delivers! Thanks a lot for the longer studs!! beerchug.gif

Just had to slightly open up the holes on the manifold and it fit's perfectly now.

What kind of gasket would you guys use, for in between the ITB and the manifolds?
I found some thin paper gasket I had - see in the pic. Anything better out there?

Happy New Year to everybody!

Glad it worked out. The paper is about the only thing out there. If you wanna get super fancy, have grooves for o-rings cut in. But really, don't bother. The paper is fine.
