i emailed the company today, asked them about how many purchases for what discount..and all of those details, when i hear something, you guys will hear it too

in the meantime, give me some advice in my progress thread please

one more thing, i was looking at the european website, and their jacket is 129 euros which is 166 USD!

you think they ship to america???

Sure they do. But the shipping is more ($35 or $39 Euro, I can't remember which now) which still makes the jacket cheaper total shipping and everything than the U.S. vendor (like I said on page 1).

BUT

A group buy with them is going to be a lot tougher unless you speak German.

you know, my 914 was originally a light blue then resprayed black metallic. i actually considered buying a replica gulf blue and orange lemans scheme for it... is that stupid? especially with the jacket!

I was going to buy one anyway... so I'm still IN!

The big question is... What will the discount be when/if we drop down to 10 folks? That's why I suggested getting a tiered price structure. People always back out of group buys when they originally said they were interested.

You should probably start an official thread now asking for firm commmitments. This one is now cluttered with detail. You can keep updating the first post in the new thread with a current list of folks who offered firm commitments and updates so people can just read the first post to get status of the "buy".

FYI Aaron - Some clarification if I may.

Their jacket isn't $168 dollars, it's 169 Euro. 169Euro = $217.38 USD Or 169Euro less 20% = 139.20 Euro = $173.91 USD. Shipping at 10-15 Euro = $12.86 - $19.29 USD

Thier cheaper jacket is 129 Euro = 103.2Euro = $132.75 + Shipping at 10-15 Euro = $12.86 - $19.29 USD

You should probably also double check that shipping. Their web site indicates 35Euro so 10-15 Euro seems too cheap.

i think the vendor would take our order, with individual addresses, then distribute the jackets at the shipping price.
you'd think they would bulk ship those that are going to the same address, or if there's a group, say in l.a. that meet regularly...

i'd really prefer the lemans jacket though.
