Any day at the track is a good day, and not just because it means I am not at work.
Today was a very good track day. The car ran great, the weather was perfect,
and I got to see some old friends and some nice cars.
Let's start the photos with a fellow 914Club members car.
This black monster belongs to Steve from San Diego.

Here is a rare sight. A 914 on jack stands.
This nice one belongs to Joe and Jeff from New Mexico.
They know Joe O'Brien and his 914RS.
They were having problems with the front brake calipers.
I was able to get in touch with my friends at Carl's Place,
and they even delivered the needed parts to the track.

Here they are on track doing what they came to do.

The other car from the above photo in the pits.
It was a nice 4 banger from Colorado. I asked but they did not know Gint.

VegasRacer
May 7 2005, 08:26 PM
The last time I saw this car it was also a 4 cylinder.
VegasRacer

My favorite car out there. This one is Elvira's sister.
I used to be the purple car that was built at the same time.

VegasRacer
May 7 2005, 08:39 PM

Fast enough to be on the pole for the race.

LAST ONE.
Me and Elvira.
I told every 914 driver about the 914World.com.
Most of them had heard of us.
I hope more of them will start posting here.
Now I have to jump in the shower and then it is off to meet Sean for dinner.
LMK if anybody wants more pictures of any of the cars or uncropped photos.

Actually I was hoping to see the rear section of Ron Mistaks 914GT1 hybrid.
john rogers
May 7 2005, 09:11 PM
Hey, Ron Mistak's 914/GT1 tube frame car. Did he have the 6 speed sequential tranny working okay? The tranny in that car is worth more $$$$ than my whole race car! Also notice it is a center seater and the NASCAR pedals with hydraulic clutch....
Aaron Cox
May 7 2005, 09:33 PM
Ron Mistaks GT1 look alike.... as seen in how to restore and modify your 914

Great pics John, thanks for posting them.
I recognize a few of those cars from local Club races, but I don't really know a lot of the RMR PCA folks. Brant does though. He's the PCA social butterfly.

dial up is killing me.
seeing all the pictures is really making me sad to and accents how much fun the track is and why I miss it...
great shots..
lots of colorado cars and good friends out there
On page one the #31 production car is actually Jim and James. A father and son crew.
Its James 2nd year at club racing and his dad is an excellent pit crew. James is now living in colorado springs, but dad is still in NM.
The white 222 car is owned by dale tuety. I talked about dale before. he is in the top 3-4 914 drivers that I've ever know... what a nice guy.. The only time I've ever beat his in around 15 years of trying was at my very last club race in 02
The car tunes car is Bill Sant. Nice car.. harry scarry fast drive. I once saw bill beat a realy 911gt2 turbo race car on an oval, only because the turbo driver would lift in the corners and Bill has no fear.. that plus he is stuborn and competetive as hell... Instead of lifting, bill would redline the car in 5th and pass the guy coming out of the oval....
The air ducts on all of the grand junction cars are left overs from when they were all type -4 machines... Zuffenhaulin rocks!
The orange zuffenhaulin car is kay koffords old car. VERY fast. Kay was an amazing builder, plus there is a ton of AJRS in that car.
the #201 yellow 6R car is sweet.. Dr. Leevers car. runs a tiny motor with big HP. Another AJRS treat!
Ok.. I'm jonesing..
have to go start the down load for page 2 of your thread

I'm up to page 2..
yellow teener in the lead.
that's mike hemmingways car.
was he driving or his wife Jenny?
I think the reason they are in the lead is that its a 2 driver car and one of them has to run in exhibition against the production machinery
talk about a go getter..
mike would really fit in around this club.
there is nothing he has not taught himself how to do/build/modify/change on a 914
he taught himself how to build his own motors... everything.
that car is kinda cool in that it is all done on a very cheap budget, but the more you look the more you see... He even cut out the firepanel and moved it 2 inches forward and then replaced it with painted aluminum to save weight... but you'd never notice on first glance.
Ahhhhh.... Ron's car. Not a colorado car. I have seen it run in colorado. What a car
I actually ran a race he was in. I don't want to claim to have raced against him, because that car is in a league of its own. I saw him start a race last and finish first one time... wow...
ok I'm heading to page 3
