Hi to all I am a newbe to the site, just want to know the location of the VIN numbers on a U.K. CAR IT'S A 1972 914 with 1.7 injection engine thanks

Riveted plate plate on the front right headlight housing and stamped into the front right wheel housing from the trunk area.

I think there's supposed to be one on the rear right side trunk floor aswell? Cant read it on my car tho.

US cars also has a vin tag on the left side windshield frame.

The trunk floor stamping is the body number.

Was it a car that was originally made for the US market? I believe that only US-spec cars had the windshield VIN tag. (Lower-left, US driver's side of the car.)

yes only US cars had the windshield VIN tag.Here is a picture from the Vin location
in the front trunk ,in Germany it is not allowed to paint this area .This is not my car ,
but you see good the Vin.
