Home all safe and sound. Larry (the drone pilot) has a TON of video and lots of pics. We'll be spending some time editing and sorting through it all and getting things posted ASAP. Lots of great stuff to come!

But most importantly:
Our first WCR and wow, what a great group of folks! We had a blast and can't hardly wait 'til next year.

Andrew - Great job!

To all of you - You made us feel like old friends. We're so looking forward to seeing you again (and meeting new attendees!)

Thanks for a wonderful memory.

What a great time. My thx to Andrew and the other helpers for all of it took to pull this off. I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours "chewing the fat" w/ Jack, aka Super in Law. Great guy. Met Mike D's wife. Forgot her name but she's a hoot. It was a great time when Sir Andy received his award/acknowledgement, too. Anyway a few pics;

Super In Law and I made it home safe and sound by 9pm. I want to thank everyone for making Jack feel so welcome. I've been telling him that he's an internet celebrity. LOL. We won't make it next year. Middle son is getting married in Pismo Beach the weekend before .........

Leaving Mammoth at 7am.

On the road. 12.5 hours of driving. 1.5 hours of eating and fueling. Only one meal stop.
In & Out in Medford. Good choice, Jack loves hamburgers. LOL.
I lost Matt and Luke somewhere before Eugene. They were going to stop at Jamie's for some stuff.

Nice pix and sorry I missed this gathering this year.

Family prevailed however, yet I am looking forward to next year's run. The six is up and running (including a fuel gauge!! WTF.gif ) and will be in fine shape for next year's event.

Back among the living - driving.gif

As some of you at the WCR know, my car would not start Saturday morning before the poker run. At that time it seemed like a timing issue which with a Megasquirt ECU usually means the crankshaft position sensor (CPS) is not doing its job. Since I had flat towed up to Mammoth I elected not to try to troubleshoot the problem until I got home.

My wife and I stayed in Mammoth through the weekend to do some hiking and drove home yesterday. This morning I hooked my notebook PC up to the Megasquirt and it was easy to see that the ECU would sync with the CPS for a few rpms, then lose sync, over and over. From under the car I can barely get to the CPS but I was able to adjust it to spec. and all was better.

I can only speculate that the heat of the drive on Friday was enough throw the sensor position to the edge of the spec. Fortunately it continued to run on Friday and through numerous stops but after it cooled overnight the problem appeared.

---------------------

On a separate note I want to thank Andrew and all of the others involved with the WCR for making it a fabulous event! beerchug.gifClick to view attachment
