Can someone please tell me what the stock tire diameter is? I read it somewhere but can't find it.

Also if I run 16" wheels what is the typical tire size that would put it at that same diameter? (50/55/60 series tire)

I want to keep the gearing/speedo/odometer accurate.

Try this link. I couldn't get it to work because my java is out of date, but it used to work.

its about 25"..

A 155/80-15 was 24.8"
A 165/80-15 was 25.4"
A 185/70-15 was 25.2"

A 205/55-16 is 24.9"

* of course, you assume your speedo was "accurate" to begin with. Most of the time they register a little high compared to modern GPS systems.

Awesome thanks! I guess I will have to buy new tires because I have 50 series. I want to be able to cruise on the freeway without the revs being high

A 205-50-16? its only 24.2" or then again you might not notice as its not a huge difference. You might notice improved acceleration. Using the calculator, only 30 revs/mile more than a 205-55-16. I don't think you should worry about it imho. Then again, I've run everything from a 165/80-15 to a 185/70-15 to a 195/60-15 to a 205/50-15 to a 195/50-15 and even a 195/60-14. Only the 195/50-15 was truly horrible on the highway. The rest were/are all quite reasonable.

Running 205/50 very close % wise, good width ,decent sidewall height but won't ride anything like the original....

I'm running 205/55 16 and my Speedometer is off by 5mph, and calculated this to be one size too big- a 205/50 would be 24.2 and would be right on according to the calulators. - maybe my speedo is off? the car had really small tires on empi 15" wheels when I bought it and it might be that the p.o. regeared the speedo.

Its a bit unlikely someone re-geared the speedo... to much of a hassle imho. Glad your on the path to a tire size you want!

use this calculator http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

i run 225-50x16 on 7's, and they are almost perfect match to the oem 185-70x15's
