Trying to figure out what is the biggest wheels that will fit with gt flares... anyone have some advice? I found some decently priced generic steal wheels from diamond wheels that are 16X8(-12 offset). Can they be made to fit?

What is a -12 offset? I run 8 16 Panasports with 225's and Boxster Snowflakes 8 16's with 225's but they don't fill up the wheel well like the Panasports.

Your car has flares I'm guessing?

I know my 914-6 conversion car with GT flares has plenty of space up front running 15x7” Fuchs ( I don’t have access to their ET right now), so I think 8” should not be an issue as long as your tire size keeps a similar outer diameter. I have seen photos of 17” Ruf wheels fitted to aflated car, so 16” shouldn’t be an issue.

If possible, post pics of the wheels you’re planning to use.

If you have the right offset you can run 8" all around, but IIRC some use 7" on the front for street because it tracks better.

You will need a spacer in the rear with 16 x 8 951 Fuchs

I've seen 8 & 9 x 16"s on a 914 widebody. The 8's were 944's

Thanks for info... Would converting to 5-lug be worth it doing now before I order wheels? Is the only advantage that there is better wheel selection to choose from?

Mine are a stock 944 spacer 23mm if I recall correctly.
They can be had for cheap.

Better brakes with 5 lug if you swap over to 911 front suspension.

/4 front are solid rotor

911 front is vented and there are kits to put larger and lighter calipers.

Besides being cheap why the Circle track heavy steel rims?

Those 951 8's on the front look too close to the flare .... is that how they fit without spacers?

Which for the OP, that would make them have a 0 effective offset (or close enough to it) , his wheels would stick out towards the outside of the car 15mm more.

Exactly because they are cost effective. I plan to upgrade again later on. I also feel as though I can beat on the steel wheels, and don't have to worry about them. They won't be pretty but they will be functional.

I can always upgrade the wheels while doing the brakes and hubs, in the future. I have brand new refurbished brakes that I put on the car, they will work for now.

I found a guy running 8x16's (-64rear,-34front), and he says he could fit a much bigger tire if he wanted to.
