I relaced mine with LED’s. They are not dimmable, but I like them bright anyway.

It's normally a ground issue. You can replace with the LEDs we provide and they will be instantly brighter as they work on a fraction of the voltage. You should look at your grounds and clean the points of contact but this is the "easy" fix. The pure white light will make the gauges look newer, as the incandescent looks more yellow when under powered. There are a few other kits that require disassembly of the gauge that work well, but are more costly and require more time and effort.

$19.99 for 8 They do dim somewhat, but not the same range as the reg bulbs.

Just do not put one in the G (green light) as it will not allow your alternator to charge correctly.

I don't think they were that bright to start with confused24.gif ,I went to LED's and was much happier ,I then moved on the LED strips ......now that's bright but not for everybody as those without DIY skills may not want to dissemble gauges to fit them.
Another benefit of the strips is they help to simplify the wiring in behind the gauges somewhat.
I have never seen brighter lamps for the stock holders so LED's are a cheap enough up grade and more reliable.

I opened my gauges up and put in led strips with side emitting diodes. I now have to use the dimmer to darken them as they are so bright.

I believe these are the strips I used

Can these be used for the smaller center gauges as well? My primary instrument cluster is already done.

So Mark, to be clear, that means the small bulb for the "Seat Belt Fastened" the "Fan" light and the small one for the heat lever?

Thanks,

Not to hijack, but are there TWO illumination lights in the stock 914-6 combo gauge?

I'm asking about the lights that actually light the gauge at night, not the red or green lights.

I know I can just go out to the garage and pull it, but it seems like only one bulb is lighting it right now. idea.gif
