Hi all
Spotted a tiny bit of rust when my 914 was up on the lift. So how worried should I be and what's the best way to treat this?
Thanks
Dan

Find the source, looks like wash down from the battery?

Several options, cover with navel jelly and paint.

Sand, acid wash, rinse with water, degrease, epoxy primer, paint, or not.

Same as above but POR-15 instead of epoxy primer.

Kill the rust now, less to deal with later.

Remove the small rubber plug so water can drain out.

wire brush thoroughly after removing the fuel pump mounts, coat with POR-15 rust paint, and top coat with the original factory color. (Ravenna Green I assume?) I would also leave out the drain hole rubber plug, that plug is what caused many 914s to rust through in this area
