I can't figure out what the circles mechanism does.
With the pawl removed the belt pulls out and locks when I accelerate
the pull rate; so I can't figure out this mechanism's function.

Full Version: Seat belt retractor explanation request
Inertia mechanism to lock the belt when you hit something.
hold the mechanism straight up and down and pull the belt...and then tilt the mechanism and it'll catch.
