Most of the 914 have clutch tube issues as it is just a matter of time. When the bottom of your pan is off it the time to make sure that the welds and brackets that hold the clutch cable tube in the car are not cracked of in so many was screwed up. Seen this on most cars that have lived a long use life. Look it up on the search area or google under clutch tube 914world.

Lots of guys have repaired this in different ways but best to do and weld when the bottom is open
