Hi, wondered if anyone can help?
I'm just changing my front brake hoses (PO fitted two that only attached correctly at on end) and wanted to confirm what callipers these are?

Is it an original 914 - 4 front calliper??

Thanks
Nick

Looks like an early front caliper to me.

Check with PMB Performance. Eric will know.

It's got 39 ATE G stamped on it - need to do some web searching!

Thank you, that's what I wanted to confirm. It's got 39 ATE G cast into it!

Okay, got some guidance from an expert : it's a 1967-69 911/912 M-Caliper.

Thanks all for your input!

Bruce, will have a look tomorrow, need to change the flex line on the drivers side! How hard is it to change the master cylinder - Eric suggested a 19mm might be a good move!

It would have helped if you had mentioned you had 911 suspension.

The M calipers cover a wide variety of shapes and applications. That could well be a 911/912 caliper judging by the bolt & nut; appear to be 8mm. The 914 front calipers are from the VW 411/412.; they have 42mm pistons. The 911/912 have 48mm pistons. Other than that they are fairly similar but not identical. The ATE is important, but the letters & numbers are not.

Not to mention they don’t fit on 914-4 struts.

Probably a wise decision to change ALL the flex hoses idea.gif
